Shop till you drop

Shop till you drop, apart from being a website where you can buy the latest products online, is the current trend.

As you all may know by now, after celebrating Thanksgiving Day last Thursday and being stuffed like turkeys with cranberry sauce, yesterday was Black Friday -the busiest shopping day of the year and the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. People queue until shops open and offer good discounts for their products. It's an excellent opportunity to go on a shopping spree.

The thing is that I couldn't wait to Black Friday and I had my own one two weeks ago, when  money was nearly burning a hole in my pocket and I decided to buy new clothes and shoes. I had that wonderful feeling of being satisfied by the amount of times I keyed in my PIN number.

Well, let's comment on consumerism and your habits.
  • Do you particularly enjoy shopping?
  • Are we getting used to spending a lot of money on things we really don't need?
  • How often do you use your credit / debit card to pay for your shoppings? Do you think one day in the near future we will be living in a "cashless society" and we will pay for everything with credit cards?
  • Have we gone crazy about shopping?
Write your comments about it and then if you want, shop till you drop!!!

  1. Marco Aurelio said that we covet what we see. 2000 years after, it´s a great true. More tan ever. I think that an adult must know what are the important things in life. When I was younger I enjoy shopping and I used to buy with credit card more than necessary. Now, I prefer to pay in cash.
Anyway, I understand that we have to be very strong to resist the continue temptations.

  2. Hi there,

I'm absolutely against consumerism. Do you know why? Watch this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Pa9lz7SV_7Q and think about it. "The speech which will never be forgotten". It's absolutely amazing.

I'm so sorry that the video is in Spanish but sometimes I can't stand English speaking world's arrogance. Spanish speaking people have also something to say in this fucking globalized (and anglosaxonized) world.

    ¡Hasta la victoria siempre!

  3. I totally against consumerism.I like shopping only when I need buy something. We live in a society where you can see advertising anywhere,in the end you finish buy something useless.
People need to go shopping to satisfy themselves but finally some of those purchases are in the bottom of a cupboard.Although theses days because of the crisis the way of shopping is changing.Nowadays, people are very careful to buy essential things.
Most of the times I pay with my credit cards because it´s easier and quickier for me.
In the future we could live in a cashless society because computers help us to work effectively
