If at first you don't succeed, ...

As you already know this is a well-known saying but in case those pupils in the second level don't remember the ending of it, this is how it ends ...

Here's a video that encourages us to try and try again even when we are not successful the first, the second or even the third time.

In case you haven't heard from this Manisfesto HOLSTEE, here's a bit of their story. Holstee is a design studio from Brooklyn devoted to produce eco-friendly and sustainable goods such as stationery, posters, cards, frames, etc, that try to inspire people to live more happily and aware of the things we are surrounded by. This studio has survived hard times and that's why they want people to value life as it is.

I think that life and time have turned me into an incurable optimist who always sees the glass half full. A new person who thinks there's nothing in life so dreadful so as to give up because things are always bound to improve. What about you? Are you an optimistic or pessimistic person? Do you agree with the Holstee Manifesto? Why / Why not? Leave your comments.

  1. I think that life is not what happens to you, it's how you life what happens to you.
Someday when I go to bed, I think.. another normal day, nothing new and I feel really good, for me this is enough.

  2. Yeah, you're right, Charo. It's essential to know how to live your life. Sometimes we aren't aware of how good our life is until something happens to us and it's when we realise that the most precious gift is to be able to live it and that's when we get rid of those daily complications which makes us not enjoy our life as we should. I'm not talking about being happy all the time but to value the people we have around us and face the difficulties we may have from a more positive point of view, I think it is the wisest option to follow. Thanks Charo for making us think how wrong our attitude is most of the times.

  3. Hi Sophie,
it's been a while since the last time I posted... Although I visit your blog every now and then.

I appreciate your positive insight and like the video you uploaded. I find it quite encouraging.

However, in that case, I agree with you up to a point. Quite the opposite I think that life and time have turned me into an incurable pessimist... Although I bet you know that a pessimist is a well-informed optimist.

Nevertheless, sometimes I have some positive moments and thoughts, you know. Therefore I'd like to share another encouraging video about failure and motivation,

    1. How come, Fernando!!!! It's great to hear from you again and needless to say, with your enlightening comments and links to videos.

I can guess why you seem to have turned into a pessimist but life is hard apart from worth living, though. In the end you'll succeed -you are a talented person and you really deserve the best.

By the way, would you like to write an entry on any topic you may feel like? Education, music, any of the many interesting facts that you know, ... the sky is the limit. To tell you the truth, it would be fantastic to have you back on the blog.

Well, Fernando, I really appreciate your comment and it's good to know that your English is as impressive as it used to be. I like reading you.

      Keep in touch ;-)
